When you are looking for the perfect mosquito-control candle, the best way to find the perfect candle is to look at the products and ingredients, according to Dr. Lisa Mennen.
Dr. Mennan is a professor of pharmacy at the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
“I’m very concerned about the ingredients, because it’s not just a list of the ingredients that you can buy,” she said.
“You have to look into the manufacturing process, how they make the product, how it’s packaged and the packaging of that product, and how it is distributed, so that’s very important.”
Dr. Bart Mennenberg, a dermatologist and president of the Australian Medical Association, has a different take on this.
“We need to look for products that are effective at preventing mosquito bites,” he said.
While some candles have been proven to reduce the amount of mosquitoes on the skin, Dr. Nasser said the best products were ones that can help you stay cool in the winter.
“When you have mosquitoes on your skin, you need to use the products as soon as they come in, otherwise they will get on the clothing and get into the airways and then they can transmit the disease,” he explained.
“That’s the way we have to think about it.”
Dr Nasser also stressed that the products need to be packaged in a way that will not attract mosquitoes.
“The most important thing is the quality of the product and the way it’s marketed and the communication that they provide,” he told ABC News.
