Tom Ford spoke about the recent events in Charlottesville, Virginia, and the role that race plays in American politics.
“You know, I think it is a fact of life,” he said.
“I think that the white nationalist movement in America is on the rise.”
He continued: “The president was not the first person to speak out against white supremacists.
There were other leaders that spoke out against racism.
The remarks came a day after Ford took aim at the media and his fellow conservatives. “
But I think what we need to understand is that we have a long way to go before we can truly say that this is a hate group.”
The remarks came a day after Ford took aim at the media and his fellow conservatives.
He said he was surprised to see some members of the press calling out Trump and his allies on Saturday after a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville turned deadly.
“That is really shocking to me,” he told the network.
“Because I think that people in the press, particularly reporters, should not go after the president.”
Ford’s comments came hours after he appeared on CNN to discuss how he would react to a president who has made disparaging comments about the press.
“If the president’s not going to say the truth about this or to say it in a way that we want to hear it, I’m not going into politics with him,” Ford said.
